The River Bann
The Honourable The Irish Society owns extensive fishing rights in Northern Ireland and seeks to manage these in a sustainable way that allows for local and visiting anglers to enjoy reasonably priced fishing, in return for the income being reinvested in fishery protection and development as well as The Society's charitable grant programme.
We employ three full-time and three part-time staff to manage most of the Lower Bann fisheries directly, as well as delegating the management of some rivers and fisheries to local clubs and community organisations.
Salmon fishing has always been the mainstay of the fisheries, but we have excellent trout waters and coarse fishing of international standard too.
