Apply now for Funding

There are currently two sources of grant:

North West Fund

The Honourable The Irish Society’s traditional programme open to community groups/clubs/associations or individuals across County Londonderry, awarding grants up to £1,000 from its own funds and on behalf of The Drapers’ Company.

Northern Ireland Fund

In association with The Clothworkers’ Foundation offering a number of grants between £1,000 and £2,000 to smaller charitable organisations elsewhere in Northern Ireland (outside County Londonderry) with an operating income below £250,000 per annum.

The Northern Ireland Fund particularly seeks to support charitable organisations operating in the following areas of disadvantage:

– Alcohol and substance misuse
– Disabled people
– Disadvantaged minority communities
– Disadvantaged young people
– Domestic and sexual violence
– Elderly people
– Homelessness
– Prisoners and Ex-offenders
– Visual impairment

And, although not exclusively, preference will be given to items of a capital nature rather than running costs.

Deadlines

Grant Applciations will normally be considered by the Local Advisory Committee in February, June and October each year. Owing to the large number currently being submitted, applications are being listed for consideration in order of receipt and some late applications may be held over to the following LAC meeting.  The Committee is scheduled to meet next towards the end of May 2020.

The deadline for applications to be considered then is FRIDAY 8 MAY 2020.

In the event that large numbers of requests for funding are received, some late applications may be deferred until the next meeting – not due to take place until October 2020.
